"I started dying my hair when I pretty young. I was never great at makeup, but I always felt like I could put hair color on. When I turned 17, I started looking for new colors and wound up walking into this salon called The Pink Mullet in my hometown. That’s where I met my friend Brian, who has literally done my hair since that day. The first thing we ever did was an ombré red-to-yellow tip that looked like flames because I told him I wanted to look like a matchstick.
